Terre Porter writes science fiction, fantasy, and dark romance — worlds where survival and longing collide. His debut is available now on Amazon.
My name is Terre Porter. I am a writer, among other things. I have written many stories over the years but never published any — I didn't feel they were good enough until now. By day I'm a web developer, but who knows? If I can keep creating stories, maybe that will be my new profession in the future.
I love music, the creative process, food — of course — and science fiction and fantasy. Movies both action and romance. I don't read as much as I used to, but I loved a good adventure. I enjoy creating the story. The process is exciting to me. Taking an idea and making it into something feels awesome.
I got started writing by accident. My wife at the time got sick and had trouble falling asleep. She asked me to tell her a story. So I did — a young man and a dragon and the adventures they had. This went on for months, and she told me to write it down.
I was never able to finish that story as she passed away only a few chapters in. But I remember her telling me to keep writing and one day publish a book in her honor. So that is what this site is for.
Dark romance, alien encounters, survival, and longing — every story is a journey into the unknown.
In a world of crumbling cities and endless nightfall, humanity clings to survival in the ruins of what was once civilization. Evelyn Gray leads her band of scavengers through danger-ridden streets, each day a race against sundown when the vampires awaken.
High above the wreckage lurks Lucian Noir, a vampire centuries old and bone-weary of his own existence. Hunger gnaws at him, yet something stronger stirs when he notices Evelyn's unyielding spirit. For the first time in ages, curiosity — and something dangerously close to longing — pulls him toward the fragile warmth of humanity.
As mutated vampires rise with insatiable hunger, Evelyn and Lucian must decide if love can exist in a world built on ruin and blood. Is he her greatest threat, or her only chance at salvation?
Nolan Everett, a reclusive former search-and-rescue operator, lives alone in a remote mountain cabin, struggling with trauma and the isolation of brutal winter storms. When a blinding streak of light crashes beyond the ridge, his ingrained instincts override his desire to stay detached.
He discovers Lira — a wounded woman who is almost human: glowing skin, multicolored hair, and a body coated in blue bioluminescent fluid. She communicates telepathically, begging him not to let "them" take her. Driven by training and guilt, Nolan rescues her into the storm.
Meanwhile, General Mitchell Granger leads a covert military operation to capture the crash survivor. As his teams close in, Nolan knows his refuge cannot protect them for long. What was once a solitary life of penance has become a race to safeguard a stranger who may reshape his world — or destroy it.
Whether you've just finished a book, want to know what's coming next, or simply want to reach out — the door is open. New stories are always in the works.
